Analyze the news in terms of the type of clauses and phrases!

You may use different colors to distinguish the clauses and phrases but don't forget to state what is meant by each color you used at the bottom of your post.

Answers:

We need to know the difference between two types of word groups: phrases and clauses. A phrase is a group of words that is part of, rather than the whole of, a sentence (Cambridge Dictionary, 2022). In common use means a group of two or more words, in grammar analysis a phrase may be a single word (Praba et al, 2017). The types of phrases are Noun phrases, Verb phrases, Adjective Phrases, Prepositional Phrases, and Adverbial Phrases. A clause is a group of words with a subject and verb unit. The smallest unit of a sentence consists of at least a subject and a verb (Praba et al, 2017).
